New Mexico Retreat Centers/New Mexico Retreat Center

Holy Cross Retreat Center is located two miles south of University Ave and I-10 in Las Cruces, New Mexico and forty miles north of downtown El Paso, Texas. It is in a country setting situated in a large pecan grove with beautiful and spacious grounds, with a view of the Organ Mountains to the east.

This New Mexico retreat center has 46 retreat rooms each with private bath.  All linens are provided.  They are individually air-conditioned and heated. There are no phones or televisions in the rooms, though there is full Wi Fi access. Thirty-four rooms have three twin beds, eight have one queen size or double bed, and four rooms have a double and a twin bed. Two rooms are handicapped accessible. Four other rooms are available for private or directed retreats, or a prayer team in an area with its own courtyard, kitchen, and living room.  Total is 50 individual rooms with 124 beds.

Our facilities include a large conference room with a capacity of 100 persons, and three smaller meeting rooms for 40 persons each. Other areas available include the library, the living room, an inner atrium garden patio, and ample seating outside in the shade. A new Chapel built in 2015 has seating for 225 and provides a very nice view of the orchards and meditation areas. A smaller chapel for up to 25 is fashioned after the kiva of the southwest Pueblo Indians and is furnished with southwestern style religious artifacts and altar.

Our dining room can accommodate up to 108, with a second dining room for 24. Meals are served buffet style with a variety of home cooked meals, some traditional mexican foods, as well as our own baked goods. Meal times are normally at 8:00 a.m., 12:00 noon and 6:00 p.m.

A large courtyard with a fountain and trellis, a Rosary Walk, a labyrinth, and miles of walking area along the irrigation canals welcome those who enjoy time outside.

Our fees are based on single, double or triple occupancy of the sleeping rooms, the number of meals you have and use of conference rooms. There is coffee available morning and afternoon at no extra charge. We have audiovisual equipment and a PA system which you may reserve for a fee.

When you call or come by to make arrangements for your group we can discuss specifics and determine the fees involved.

We also welcome people for private retreats to come and spend time in quiet.

If you are interested in setting up a retreat or a conference, please call (575)524-3688, weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to noon and 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. (MT).
